Matrox MGA Impression Plus , one of the first 64bit graphics cards.
Quick snip for an old Byte review :-
"The MGA Impression Plus, from Matrox Graphics, had one of the strongest combinations of features, usability, and performance; it finished second in the best-overall category. Its $449 price tag may seem a bit steep, but that's substantially lower than the price of many other comparable high-performance PCI boards on the market today. Its ability to change resolutions on the fly, its pioneering support of 3-D (unfortunately for testing purposes, it does not yet support OpenGL), and its high performance scores put it one step from the top."
Matrox Mystique with 4mb! This card was great, I got it in mid 1996, and it was in my comp for about the next 3 years. After that I got a V3 3000, but the Matrox isn't laying around or something, it is in the comp of a friend and he says that this card is still great (he uses his comp ONLY for 2d and some old 3d shooters) and he is not planning to replace it that soon. The best is that the card always ran without a single problem, the same with the drivers. I think that is a good proof that you buy quality if you buy a card manufactured by Matrox.
Now I am looking forward to the Parhelia, I wish I would have a credit card so I could pre-order one
