Why would bother to continue a fan site for a company that ignores you?

And, I think at certain extend this community doesn't have any direct relation to the company Matrox. I don't think the they have ever really "supported" this site, and why should they award its administrator? The only connection I saw between this site and the company is that Haig and some others drop in now and then, and that Haig has refered to this site quite often in the official forum. But I believe that this connection is rather private.
So it is actually the MURCers community, not the company, who feels grateful to Ant, because his great site has provided us the best place to talk about Matrox. The company can just take this advantage without having to do with it.
I also don't think that giving Ant a card to review or as a gift is the right way of Matrox. But maybe they can invite him to visit their company. Nobody can accuse Ant or the company because of this visit!

I say if Matrox are not giving Ant a Parhelia, we will!

We should elect one long-time MURCer to send money to, and he'll buy a Parhelia for Ant once he's gotten enough money.

This is the least we can do for him paying hosting for the MURC out of his own pocket and giving us such a great site & time here. I'd certainly contribute to it, although I'm broke.

i agree. i was about to order sth. from the matroxusers shop but the shiipping costs are higher than the actual thing i wanted to order

i say setup a paypal account, everyone donates how much he feels like (be it nothing or a few cents or a few bucks) and there is ants parhelia if ant feels comfortable with this of course, but i dont see why he shouldnt.

I've been just lurking here for far too much lately, time to put my money where my mouth isn't.

paypal.com is probably the easiest and cheapest way to send money, you need a credit card though. sending cheques or (god forbid) using WesternUnion will easily cost more than the money you will actually send.
                    no matrox, no matroxusers.

Now if the MURC community wants to present Ant with a gift I'm sure that would be fine with everybody.
Err, rubbish! If Ant has something concrete to say he'd have said it. Just look at all the G range of reviews. They cut to the chase whether Matrox likes it or not. I remember "cost of bumpmappping" when the G400 first hit town - back then not many people were out to take a dig Matrox (unlike these days where it's more cut-throat). The article didn't forget to point out the performance hit whereas most sites concentrated on looks.

Ant pays for site (and the HUGE increase in site resources being used) by himself and I'm surprised he continues with zero support from Matrox.
                      Cheers, Reckless

He deserves no less. Looks like Ant's list of Matrox adapters is either gonna grow by 2 (P+RT.X100) or maybe Matrox will ship him "something special" to cool his Parhelia for when the overclock utility is available.
