g550 stuttering on avi playback per tv out

hey!

just connected a tv to my pc (with a g550) this day and i`ve got a huge problem. whenever i play back an avi on the tv, it is stuttering (meaning missing a couple of frames), althogh it is working perfectly on the pc monitor. anyone got an idea? ah yes, when playing i haven`t got the problem, just when watching avis or watching tv via my pc-tv-card...

set up:
tv connected on the hd-15 output via composite
second monitor on the dvi output with an hd-15 adapter
amd athlon 1,4 ghz
tv is set to 50hz, pc monitor to 85 hz

is the framerate of the source video PAL as well? If not, it's logical to get stutters because the framerates don't match.

it`s 25 fps, and as i said, it`s also with the tv-software, and this is configured to pal...

What's the CPU utilisation like? I assume you play back everything with DVD-MAX to the TV, right?

Did you try the latest drivers and BIOS for the videocard? Do you have more than just the videocard on the same IRQ channel on the motherboard?

no, it`s just normal .avi playback with the mediaplayer from win2000.

yep, newest drivers and bios. what i find a little bit strange, that it works on a normal monitor, but not on the tv. or do i really have to recompress my avis to "interlaced"?

Sorry, I think you misunderstood me here. DVD-MAX is the Dualhead mode where all the overlay data from the primary dekstop is scaled to fullscreen accordingly the settings in the display properties, and send to the TV-Out in overscan. Can I assume that you use DVD-MAX to output to TV? Either way, what's the CPU utilisation like when playing back video?

Which OS are you using? And did you or did you not share a PCI device on the same IRQ channel as where your AGP card is on?

Please answer all these questions...

btw. if you're watching TV input from your TV-card without de-interlace filters applied, you might want to enable field-based scaling in the DVD-MAX properties.

ah yes, misunderstood you, cause i`m currently not using dvd-max for output. i`m kind of a vj, and i want the tv to be the output, while on the other monitor i can play around with my controlsoftware. is this still posible then?
and with the cpu-utilisation: the pc is lazy as it can be, the mplayer takes about 20-25% cpu time.

no irq conflicts. OS is win2k SP2.

i have the same sort of problem.
i am running win2k SP2, and i have the small hiccup every second or so...i have a pal tv, and am running it at 50/60hz (default tv setting)..
I had managed to sort it out, but had some huge codec problems and had to reinstall.
i DO use dvd-max for output, and i get the same problem.
i have a duron 1.2ghz with 512Mb ram cas2.
