Does anyone know if the Parhelia supports a refresh rate higher than 60MHz for LCD displays connected via a DVI connection ? My G400 Max doesn't support anything higher.

Erm.. first off, I think you meant 60 Hz, not MEGAHertz, right?
Second - why would you need to drive your LCD with more than 60 Hz? LCDs won't flicker, therefore they need not more than 60 Hz, in fact most LCDs are OPTIMISED for 60 Hz, and some don't even run on higher refresh rates.
Now, driven analogue, some TFTs might flicker, but this is NOT due to their refresh rate, it's because of bad synchronisation. Sometimes they flicker because the backlight is bad, but generally, flat panels don't flicker, so they don't need any more than 60 Hz.

these support 75 Hz...72 Hz looks the best...60 Hz is flicker free
i, for one will be glad to get the P...i want the higher res(..1600 x 1200 @ 32 bit and 70 ~ 75 Hz) + dual hardware overlay! i do no 3D stuff, but the features are cool.
hey doc, is that refresh rate(..165 Hz) divided equally among the number of displays attached to the card? the baord level info that M sent out doesn't spell this out.

You COULD get higher FPS with a higher Hz rate, but due to pixel response time (which is in the panel, not the electronics), you will see ghosting, to a certain extent.

Ghosting would really stay the same (because a white pixel would still take, say, 30ms to go black). You'd just have 85 ghosted pictures per second instead of 60. Keep in mind that ghosting is totally independant of refresh rate, it just makes higher refresh rates useless, because the pixels simply can't switch fast enough.
One reason for running a LCD at 75 Hz is for us europeans who look at TV on their PC: if the screen refresh rate is not a multiple of the TV 25 Hz frequency, then the TV picture stutters. Unfortunately, no LCD can go as low as 50 Hz. And the G550 cannot go higher than 60 Hz digital.
Because of this, I am forced to use an analog connection between my DVI LCD and the G550. Thank you Matrox!
Watching european DVD pose the same problem.
I am watching the TV and it's worthless.
If I switch it on it is even worse.
