This is my idea for getting at least SOME supprt for older OS's
Let's all send e-mails to insales, asking for at least basic 2D Win 98 support, no PD, no 3D, just plain ol' 2D desktop support, anything else is unrealistic, so don't waste your breath. I believe we have a chance with Compatibility Mode drivers. If we can unite on that front, and send the same request through to Matrox, we can all gain OS supprt. Remember, once they have a basic driver, they can build on it, but don't ask for every bell and whistle now, you'll just be denied.
Come on everyone, let's campaign!!
This is the one I sent:
Hello,
OK, so no Powerdesk, multi monitor, or 3D Accelerated support, that's fine, what about just basic 2D desktop, is that possible? I just want to run the desktop at a decent color depth and resolution, nothing fancy. Why can't/won't Matrox do even that?
It can't be that big a task to provide very basic OS support?
I, like many other people out there, dual boot to Windows 98 for old application support, many old apps do NOT run under windows 2000/XP, (No, they don't!, yes, I have used the application compatibility wizard, No, it didn't help!))
