• Just a little teaser...

Hey Guys,
Wanted to give an update on what's going on with Surround Gaming. For now we're working with several developers. I am not sure if anyone noticed this today, if you're a racer it's a must!
I know many of you are wondering what titles will support Surround Gaming as it's suppose to be. Of course the answer for that is too many. You saw Bandits, you read about UT 2003 and you certainly must have heard about Star Wars: Galaxies. In the next few days, the list will start growing. From new racers, new rts, new sim, and more, not to mention the drivers are ready to be released plus other surprises which i can't talk about. Keep your eyes on our website for some cool happenings,

Regards,

As I indicated in my Bandits mini-review with surround-gaming, its only a matter of time, my friend.. The point will come where even the most hardened of Parhelia-ignorant upper management and producers at game companies will have no choice but cave to their enthusiastic developers' ignored cries to go ahead and work on P support *officially* rather than just tinkering around with a P after hours for their own curiosity.

I have a friend at a certain game company here in Irvine that's just such an individual, and yesterday I had him and a few members of his current project's team over for an extended lunch hour, to check out Bandits Demo along with a few other games at the office here since we have several triplehead Parhelias setups networked and running as audio workstations, and despite them already having a few Parhelias at their own office that they hadn't bothered much with yet, only today saw the light for the first time as to the potential of a P. It seems that their production milestone deadlines have had them in too much of a fog to even get beyond unwrapping their Parhelias at work and play around with them and even think about surround gaming in their current productions beyond writing them the concept off as 'some day'..

Needless to say they were all blown away and left with far different attitudes about the P... Most notably one person's "I thought I'd heard this card was slow..." remark comes to mind .. While he was smoothly playing Bandits demo in multiplayer network mode along with the rest of us on the other triplehead setups.

So, perhaps today's triplehead demos to these guys will end up sparking a tangible shift in attitude in their company's production priorities with specific-consideration of the P beyond generic support, since this particular team works on a significant facet of the company's flagship product. There was definitely much enthusiastic chatter amongst them as they were leaving.

Joe T.

damned gaps between the monitors, lol when the newer LCDs with their really narrow bezels come down in price that is going to be the sweetest rig!
Look, I know you think the world of me, that's understandable, you're only human, but it's not nice to call somebody "Vain"!
