  • Refresh Rates and Triplehead

I'm wondering if there limitation to Triplehead and Certian Montiors. I'm having a problem with my Optiquest Q95 Monitor, where it can't display a refresh rate over 3072x768@81Hz without shutting the monitor off and telling me that the Freq is out of range. On the Flipside, I run the same monitor in "singlehead" on a G450 PCI at 1024x768@85Hz and I can run it at 1280x1024@90hz (I know I'm over spec with that one ) with a Radeon 8500DV. my Older OptiQuest V95 doesnt have the same problem, but I think its a different tube all together with that monitor. Any one else experance anything like this?

81Hz? sounds a bit odd to me, it could be out of the sync range for the guns. Most monitors have saftey mechanisms which shut themselves down if the signal is not within certain ranges. ie, it may support 75Hz, 80Hz, 85Hz, 100Hz and so forth, but not 81. Are the drivers forcing you to that refresh rate? can you not select another?
Look, I know you think the world of me, that's understandable, you're only human, but it's not nice to call somebody "Vain"!

No anytime I run anything over 81Hz that monitor gives me an error saying that its out range..even if I run it at default hz of say 85 or 90. If the monitor is hooked up by itself, it doesnt have any problems with going to its specs or even exceeding them.

        Could be a power issue?
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

In what way? I have my Shuttle SS51G hooked up to the same monitor and dont have any problems with it. Its in the same power etc. I asked Matrox tech support for help and they suggested to swap the monitors around to see if its the dongle or not. I'll try it when I get home later
