  • G400 problem

I've got a problem with G400 - occasionally the screen turns black for a second and then returns to its normal condition. It's just the same way when you change refresh rate - but it happens without human intervention.
    here's my system information:
    matrox g400
    graphic bios 2.1 b35
    drivers 5.84.023

    system:
    celeron1200 gigabyte 6vtx 256mb ram seagate 40gb
    Nec fe 750+ monitor 1024*768@100 hz@ 32 bit color
    WIN XP

All settings that could be checked in mobo's bios (such as assign irq for agp, etc) are OK, also I've tried Matrox tech support tweak and set AGP to 1x, but the problem persist.

This problem didn't occured on the same system with my previous videocard.

Try reflashing G400 BIOS or using restore utility.

How often does this occur? Rule out the screensaver or power options, try a different monitor for a while... Try a lower refresh rate... 85hz could be tollerable

If nothing helps, try to use PD 5.72. I have had strange things happen on my machine after installing one of the newer drivers.

I remember now.. once I had the same problem ... occasionally when I moved the mousecursor to the far bottom corner of the screen the screen went black... I discovered it was the mouse cord that pulled on the monitor cable
