DVDMax smoothness on tv

Ciao,
I have a Duron 800, 256 MB, Win XP and a G400 DH. When I look at a Divx (no matter which player I use), the quality is perfect on the monitor, but it lacks smoothness in the faster scenes on the TV (using DVDMax).
I installed the DivxG400 driver (good work for the subtitles!), but nothing changes.
What should I do?
Anyone experiencing the same problem?

what TV stanadard do you use and what framerates are the movies coded at ?

The tv standard is PAL.
I don't know the framerate of the divx movies and it seems to be a problem common to all of them.
BTW, I think that DVDMax won't work at all if I select NTSC. Or not?

most modern PAL TVs will playback NTSC just fine and hence there might be a relation ...

for the DIVX framerate, you should look nito the file's properties > details and see if they are really encoded in PAL (25fps) or if they are differing.

I'm almost sure that the last divx I was looking at was not at 25fps, but something less, like 24 or 23.something.
If that is the problem, which is the solution?

use MTSTU to disable VSync and the problem should become less evident.

I seem to recall that even DivXG400 has an option for smooth framerates pulldown, but I didn't ever use it for myself so that someone else would have to help you out on that.
