  • What caused this huge turnaround ?
A few days ago, it seemed like the 64MB version was almost ready for shipping... Do we have such an influence? Or were there some internal discussions (which we'll probabely never know) ?
No matter what the cause, I sure am pleased to hear this news ! Go [M] !
(perhaps now I can even dream of the new version for my new computer - waiting for a new intel-chipset to arrive)

    • Does anyone know if this will be a straight cut 256Mb version of the current Parhelia, or will it be 'different' in any way?
(apart from the memory increase and related parts...)

      Any differences at all.....

Just clock your G400 SH a bit faster and voilá(OK it only has 32MB and no pixelshaders but you get the point).

        • my g400 would need a 250/400 clock to satisfy me
but i'm really thinking to put my g400 back in and sell my GF3. don't see any exciting games coming out in the next time.
          1600x1200 with a gf3 isnt very pretty

ps. my SH has only 16mb

They never said it was any kind of new parhelia. I am guessing it is an old one, since they never had a review of it.

edit: ooops, thop already pointed that out

                I'm with VJ on this...

Maybe the crippled 64mb version never really existed and it was just a marketing trick/blabla to make the release/announcement of the 256mb version an even bigger surprise?

                I know, it's only speculation...

/EDIT: Matrox likes tuesdays for announcements, what day is tomorrow?

Nooooo... I want something I can afford to upgrade my G400!!!

However, if 128mb price drops after 256mb is out... that would be a good thing

Anyway, we shall see in two weeks time...

Shouldn't it read "the card(s) we want" ?

Well, a pricedrop of the current 128mb card would be nice....450€/256mb and 250€/128mb

                            It's getting interesting again.

                            Cheers.

...parhelia...no faa...64mb...canned...hot faxe... well, let's see, that's it: too much cans of hot faxe lead to such a crippled product!
