- Meh didnt see this thread till after the other one.
$599US is a damn good price for the card of that Target market. I just hope they can get the Pro Certified Drivers performing within the parameters of the $800+ Quadro, FireGL, and Wildcat Cards. I hope Matrox can get Certified from Alias|Wavefront as well.
And if i see 1 complaint that this card is useless cause of no Win9x Support... . -
So, is the 256MB Parhelis going to be using the exact same core as the current shipping 128MB Parhelia cards?
Rather interesting that the PH-A256 is apparently going to be clocked at the 200MHz / 250MHz speeds.
I have a question though. Are the Parhelia OpenGL drivers 1.2 or 1.3 compliant? Did the card ship with 1.2 drivers and the latest driver package (1.02) have a OpenGL 1.3 compliant driver?
Designed for the most demanding 3D workstation users and priced at an unprecedented ESP of US$599, Matrox Parhelia 256MB provides the ultimate in productivity and image quality for the AEC, DCC, MCAD and GIS markets.
Does this mean that we won't see the 3D problems with windowed rendering etc?

Actually I paid attention to this, I'm pretty sure that they were openGL 1.2 with the pre-1.1 drivers. Because I thought it was great, once the 1.1.x drivers came out, that they had upgraded to GL 1.3 specs, but if I'm absolutely wrong on this, I won't feel bad in the least

Edit: As a side note, 1.1 was the drivers that finally fixed Neverwinter Nights, that's why I was paying attention to the GL version.

Well, if it's fixed with the card then we will know for sure if it's
1) Hardware problem
2) Driver problem
If it's not fixed then Matrox really have a serious QA problem :/
If it's a hardware problem with the 128 range then Matrox will have a lot of angry customers.
If it's a driver problem - then I'd assume that the new drivers would work on the 128 cards and everyones happy.
However, I'm guessing that it's a hardware problem based on the shear lack of response we've had about it. Even Haig's stopped bumping the thread in their tech support section.
