Hi all,
I'm currently not sure which new gfx-card I should choose. I'm concidering:
- Parhelia because of it's known 2D quality (I want to get a clear image at 1600x1200@100Hz) and 16x AA
- ATI 9700Pro because of its performance
- 3D Labs VP 870 because of its prof. OpenGL implementation and probably the best OpenGL 2.0 support
I'm thinking about this since some weeks now and I hope you will be able to drive me to the right direction.
Best card would be a combination of all three, because mainly I'm working in following enviroment:
- Prof. 3D modeling using Lightwave (So it's a condition that the OpenGL implementation of the drivers will do no trouble)
- As said, working at a resolution of 1600x1200@100Hz while getting a clean and sharp image
- Future developing of 3D engine using OpenGL, so I need good performance and OpenGL 2.0 support if possible. Anyone knows the state of OpenGL 2.0 support for Parhelia ?
The 3D Labs VPxxx boards are said to have a bad display quality. Someone here that's able to confirm this ?
I will be thankful for any suggestions you have for me. If there would be PCI versions of all these cards, or mainboards would have 3 AGP slots, I would concider to buy all three.
