  • Wouldn't it be nice if the Parhelia128 went down in price a bit ?

Let's say 10-25%. I'm not saying do it now, it's been what, 5 months since it's been out but a Christmas surprise would be nice.
Right now it's at that psychological price tag of 399,400$ that puts it at Radeon 9700 Pro levels and few people have second thoughts on what to get.
Guess many people would be willing to overlook the faults if it had a more appealing price.
It would speed up sales and they could begin ordering/assembling the 8x revised parts sooner.
Actually, many of us would expect the 8x parts for Christmas not "when the leafs turn green" so a price cut would be the least they could do.

360$ (the least they could do provided the current sittuation)

It didn't even make it in the stores here. I'm assuming I can get it on special order from a shop I know that traditionally has Matrox products yet they didn't embark on the Parhelia ship.
That's how a budget market like ours felt about it.
While you could find a brand name Radeon 9700Pro or GF4 Ti4600 card ranging 400-550$. They might not sell many of them but they are there counting for the 5-10% market share.

You're right, you're more close to the italian version
It's "ce faci?", "what you're doing?" or "how you're doing?" depending on the context.

I just downloaded the demo for Frank Herbert's Dune to see why this Italian guy Drizzt is bashing it

Zi bono. ce faci. Roku. (I'm a multilingual dude.)

Why is that when I hit the link in Inthaloop newsletter and the page presents me with choose country Slovenia is not listed. (but Croatia is.)

Although Slovenia has only 2M of people our GNP is 2× Croatian and their IT market is a few years behind (I worked on IT company launch for that market.)

Maybe they couldn't get someone to translate to Slovenian?

/me pushed UtwigMU forward as a volunteer

Could also be that Matrox Croatia outsells Matrox Slovenia.

Could be that we have an authorized distibuter and Slovenia doesn't have one.
And also, in the biggest store here, all Parhelias they recieved were sold out in two days despite the fact that they were selling them for 525US$ ...
Guess some people here love Matrox (me included).
Although I have constant wars on local forums about Matrox and quality, stability and longevity of their products. I thought I would be the only one that would get a Parhelia here, yet they were sold out. Looks like there's a loyal base of users after all in Croatia.

Croatian and their IT market is a few years behind
I wouldn't count on it. We have awful infrastructure regarding internet, and a monopolyst ISP that don't care about users, but if you look at machines that people have at home, they are mostly in top 15% performance-wise if you compare to the rest of the world, and most of them are constantly being upgraded. So I guess IT does pretty well here.

(I worked on IT company launch for that market.)
What was that company UtwigMU? Just curious...

Well, I'll be... so it did make it to the market and Matco's store is rather close to me
Never heard of them before though. On the other hand Intelis is at the other end of the country it seems (in Cluj).
I was thinking at the posibility of getting it on special order from Blueridge. Was once interested in a G450 PCI (close to Easter time this year) and they didn't have it on sale but could get me one in a week or so if I wanted. They asked 155-160$ for it when it was 130-135 on Matrox's online store. So they pretty much only added the 19% VAT to the Matrox price.
Note, I'm only assuming I could get a P from them, based on the previous experience.

GDI_Raptor what are you talking about ? The actual cheapest prices for Parhelia now is 3395 (452USD) (at PCMAX) and 3495 (466USD) (at Amraam). It sure helps to be shopping around a bit as both of those shops are in Oslo. And the fact that the prices you quoted from Komplett are their special web prices so you have to add another 10USD for shipping.
