  • Video on secondary display /w G400MAX

Is there a chance to get a video overlay on my secondary display using a G400MAX and an application based on WDM drivers?!

In this case I want to have my WinTV application running on the secondary, but the window remains black. I am not sure, but I have heard there is no support for WDM on the secondary when using Matrox' PowerDesk and/or the DualHead features.

If I used the VfW drivers (from Hauppauge) it would work, but the WDM drivers refuse.

I have Win2k, and newest drivers of both the G400MAX (5.86) and WinTV (wdm311_20211).

thx for any input in regards with my output ,

G400 only supports overlay on the primary when in DH independant mode.
If you are running win2k or XP, try running stretched mode, where it treats both monitors as a single display (not sure if that'll work, but it's the only thing I can think of...)

      THX.

But even this "streched display" does not work. I remember this was confusing in regards with the video adapters (RT and Digisuite), also.

So, what ist the next generation of cards which is able to do so?!
      G550 or do I need a P (even not sure a P can)?

I am not looking for best 3D performance, but this overlay feature...

how about keeping your TV app on monitor #1 and using DVD Max for your 2nd output ?

or is fullscreen not an option for you ?

Parhelia can do overlay on all displays. G550 is the same a G4x0, and can only do it on the primary.

It IS an option! A perfect one. Honestly, I was afraid of trying so as BOTH screens remained black the first time I activated DualHead DVD Max. Today, everything works without any crash even with switching from/to DualHead Zoom feature via hotkeys and vice versa. (I suppose it just needs a first "initializing crash" as my first experience with DH Zoom was the same...)

            Thanks for your reminder.

BTW: Although Cyberlink'S PowerVCR requires the WDM driver install for the WinTV card, you can switch form overlay mode to non-overlay mode.

So, now I can have TV in a window (in DH Clone mode) on the secondary AND use PowerVCR II I misinterpreted WDM would only work in overlay mode.

              Cheers.
