o btw. i think the fariy do look better than dawn... lol

edit: tried on g550. looks awesome. especially the water. too bad i can't use aniso on it. (even though i hacked the registry it doesn't seem to do anything.) btw what does texture filtering look like? is it the one with lots of noise in it?

however, i can't get the fps status and stuff work properly. all it displays is white blocks. strage

Yep, texture filtering is the one that makes it all look grainy when turned off. Strange, bump mapping is supposed to be broken on the G550 so one would think that the water and the "matrox" stone slab might look fugly on it..?

Just tried the techdemo on my 8500LE, works perfect after adding that line in matrox.cfg. Didn't notice anything special about the fairy though, if you don't count the fact that she doesn't appear to be wearing very much under that grass skirt of hers

Yes the water does look really good, nearly as good as all those fancy Pixelshader demos. Can anybody say clever use of EMBM (unfortunately boycotted long enough by NVidia to be a dead birth...)

I just love good looking rendered water

EMBM works perfectly on my G550 for some reason. A voice in my brain tells me that they screwed up EMBM in their drivers to make it as a 2D workstation card

It does NOT work perfectly on your G550. Matrox f*cked the algorithm in the hardware. The G400 has EMBM that both looks better and causes less of a performance hit.

And your shots look VERY grainy to say the least. O.K., I'm running with FSAA4x always enabled, but still....

(you chose a bit better viewpoints/angles for your shots, btw.)

when i turn on the stats display in the demo, i see nothing but white blocks, too.

                    maybe it's a XP-issue
                    my system:

                    AMD XP 2000+
                    Abit KTA7 (VIA 4.49)
                    512MB SDRAM133
                    Matrox Millennium G400 MAX (5.91, AGP 2x)
                    Windows XP Prof

Win2k, Parhelia - I only get a quick flicker of the screen and then the desktop remains as normal... no sign of the demo!

I'm using G400, Win98 and DX8.1 and there are glitches as soon as you start playing with settings and resolutions (blank screen).

The demo ran well with 99 settings (DirectX 6 IIRC).
