Please specify the game in which it hinders.
You mean like Soldier of Foture II where it draws lines across certain chunks of the map. Battlefield 1942 where it corrupts the text. The fact it appears to not work at all in Neverwinter Nights. How it screwed up the Fog of War in Warcraft III. The fact it ignores decals/textures. The fact it ignores intersections.

I'd tell you what it does wrong in Half-Life, but I gave up on it already and just leave it disabled.

Even when it does work right the fact it misses decals/textures and won't do interesections makes it worthless. You running around admiring how crisp the edges are and then you see this huge line of jaggies surrounded by crispness.

It's asstastic. It's hard to believe someone actually tried to tell me that the Parhelia would prevent texture shimmer.

      I voted 3.
I was eager for the Parhelia, and started to save, hoping to get oa little while after the rush...but there was no rush. So i waited, and waited, and got a couple of new hard drives and a G400MAX.
      nuff said.

      What was it? soon?

I have a G200 at work, agp oem model, and when web surfing, i get page lags...with the wheel mouse.
On my V3, i don't get any lag.
      Maybe its the memory speed?
      isn't the G200 memory at 125MHz, and V3 at 143/166 MHz?

in battlefield they are working on a fix for that, the fog of war has been fixed in warcraft, i havne't played sof2. but it simply not working on a game is not really hindering the game, i dunno if they are workin on a fix for neverwinter or not, it seems to me as a case by case basis. my friend has a radeon and he has trouble running games period under xp and 2k and vice versa per game.

that is just natural bugs in teh hardware software business, not really making the card not worth buyying, as we woudln't buy anything related to computers otherwise.

in any event they are working on most of the issues, try getting that w/ ati.

Basically in lamance terms the Parhelia works fine as long as FAA 16x is off in a lot of cases but they are working on a fix. Matrox did say before release that FAA 16x will have problems with a lot of games but as every new drivers release comes out it gets BETTER AND BETTER !! So give it a rest you guys. Either buy one or dont as simple as that. I know some ppl are pissed but it's Matrox's first new core card for Ages! So give them a break and let them find a FIX instead of bitching 24/7 maybe we could help find a fix and support Matrox until they do. It was the same when ATI had their new AA mode and everything looked faT!!!!! ...lol

Voodoo3 is faster with film playback, surely. But IMO its color is not as natural as G200. And I saw some errors on showing windows desktop which I have never seen on G200.

Hey 3dfx what if someone that owns the card or even better, a beta tester were to counter your claims, would you still make the same claims???

I believe the default core/memory clock of my Voodoo3 2000 is 143MHz. I run it at 161MHz - still using only passive cooling.

Between the Voodoo3 and G200 cards that I have, I see no difference in color depth or 2D quality (this may be different on a CRT).

In any case the performance of the Voodoo card is better - so the G200 stays in the drawer.

Lets see here an LCD has what ... 6 bit color depth and a monitor is unlimited... yeah think that sums it up

So Greebe as a privileged Beta tester are you saying that Matrox are having big difficulties and a fix looks very unlikely
and what point could you make that would make me counter my claims? I will accept that as a beta you know a lot more than us, so where do you think the Parhelia is going?

                        ARE THEY HIDING SOMETHING

unless you are a matrox rep, rumours are just that, rumours, quit getting so stressed out people. I have a feeling matrox will be around for a while, but hey, that's just my own rumour.

I must admit that I' am slightly worried when the beta testers lose faith in the Parhelia. Where you not aware previously of this problem? When you were beta testing the Parhelia
