  • P banding at 217 and 220 Mhz core clock?

Don't know if this has been addressed before, so I just wanted to make sure...
Is there any difference in the amount of banding that people are getting when running Parhelias with 217 Mhz and 220 Mhz core clock?
I thought maybe those two issues could be connected...

Anyone care to share some info?

Just wanted to make sure because I saw someone on this forum that was complaining about banding if he used the wrong clockspeed...

220 and banding is there for me but only in forced circumstances and not really noticable.

            Guess I was lucky...

Same here, Gnep, I have VERY little banding, and this is only when I tried the white background with the powerDVD diagnostics.

As a side note, I just played Ultima Online (3D client) with a window and a white background. No banding at all. I'm guessing there's more to this than just "ANYTHING using 3d and in a window mode causes it."

No it varies from card to card and is actually more percievable when using a 50% grey background.

I see it regardless of the background. Any 3D app or Video played (overlay).

                  Hi greebe,

do you have a oem/retail parhelia or a "beta testing" one?

I don't know if this has been spoken before but could be that there is a relation between the banding and the part number of the card? Or even where it was made?

I bought it in matrox uk so I guess it's from the Ireland factory. the banding is very noticiable.

I'll have a look when I have the change to shutdown the computer.

as I mentioned before all BBz have an OEM Parhelia.

It does not matter whether it is an OEM or Retail Parhelia, and not all suffer from banding.

Yup. Mine is from the UK as well - but they are all manufactured in the same place anyway (aren't they?)

Has the banding got worse over time for people? I have only just moved over to triple head, and because of work/holiday commitments over the last few months have never driven the card particularly hard over its life, and only get mild (at very worst) banding.

Even when going at it some on the few occasions I can

                      (And no, I don't mean surround pr0n )
