Going a little off-topic, but I tried dualhead briefly a few weeks ago with my G400 and Win98, and I was able to smoothly drag windows from one screen to the other and have them straddle the screen borders. Is that not a stretched desktop?

(I didn't play with it under Windows for very long at all.)
Blah blah blah nick blah blah confusion, blah blah blah blah frog.

Usually a windows program will remember its position and dimension when you close it. Then the problem should be that most comercial programs just validate the data at init time, so if they see a missmatch between the dimensions of the window and the ones of the desktop they will change it.
Under Win9x you could maybe use something like PowerStrip but I'm not sure if it'll help.

Forget about setting the dualhead to stretched, just try Ultramon. (http://www.realtimesoft.com/ultramon/)

With Ultramon you can stretch applications to multiple monitors automaticly. Works like a charm. For multimonitor users, ultramon is a must!

Don't know for sure Ultramon works with G400 and W98, but i think it does. Just try it.

With Win98 you can't have a stretched desktop, but I presume independent desktops wouldn't have been too hard. However, the 3 independent "heads" is a hardware limitation - simply installing Win98 shouldn't really fix that

              Thanks Michel,
I've DLed the 30 day demo. It is w98 compatible and looks good!
I especially like the idea of extra buttons for dual functions up in the top right of all windows.

Isn't there an option "Maximize Window across all screens (when holding control while pressing the button)" or something like this in PowerDesk?

About UltraMon, if you still can get the RC2 version, that is not 30day limited I think...

No, that's in the customers only section.
I'll try this version but look at the XP option too. It's about time I made the move!
