  • Effect of Different Video Cards on LCD monitor

Has anyone tried out various video cards on an LCD monitor to see if there is a difference. I was just setting up a new Samsung 17 LCD for a friend and I was wondering how much the video card affects the quality of the screen with the LCD given that it is an analog input. TIA

Let me clarify things a bit, we are talking about an LCD panel with an analog input and the cards available to the user all have analog o/p. The card choices are:
    Current card: ATI Mach64 8mb
    options:
    ATI Rage 128
    G200
    G400
The user is not a gamer, does mostly surfing and some photo editing work.

I've used the AIW 7200, 8500, Leadtek GF4 4600, and Parhelia thru' DVI. There is still a difference in colour reproduction and signal output.

My 7200's output had a sorta shimmering effect sometimes. Straight lines would dance around. Random artifacts on WinXP login screen.

Parhelia's quality is still the best. Other card's colour were washed out looking.

I think Parhelia's DVI output is kinda odd sometimes tho'. Sometimes, when you force 4XFSAA it goes funny and unfortunately I'm the only one that has seen it so I can't really explain it well enough.

If you care to check matrox support forums for DVI-flickering and war3 posts I have described them there.
