  • need g400 PINS help

so after 3 years or so i finally decided to o/c my g400 via PINS (for some q3a action)
i've searched the forum for the past hour, and checked out the matroX files, but i still didn't find out how to change the memory clock, and if i can change the core and RAMDAC independently.

    here's my PINS file:

      Why don't you use PowerStrip?
      System:
      P III-S 1.4@1.52
      512 MB SDR-Ram
      Gigabyte-6IEML
      Matrox Parhelia

I'll check the archives for a G400max pins file to compare to.

I'm not sure if you can do 140/180, more like 140/186 or 136/181 (182 ?).
I think it has a (3/4) core/memory ratio and what you can change is the core clock (for 2D and 3D) and it applyes the clock to memory based on the 3/4 ratio.
Well, I don't really know much about it, someone with more knowledge can explain the mechanism to you.

Anyway, to do 136/181 (182 ?) you need to change locations:

                65 1 136
                66 1 68

                75 1 136
                76 1 68

                and for 140/186:

                65 1 140
                66 1 70

                75 1 140
                76 1 70

Make sure you backup your original pins and also get Matrox's Restore Bios utility, in case there are problems.

Actually that 3/4 ratio and that it adjusts memory autoatically according to the CORE clock was the info i was looking for. thanks a lot admiral
