operation system

what is better suitable operation system in recent time for my G550? Are dirves for WIN XP well optimised against for example my WIN ME?
I m using ACAD 2000, 3Dstudio MAX 5 and playing Il2 sturmovik.thanx

If you use Acad or 3D Studio you should go for Win2k or XP.

When I had the G400 on my computer I found Win2k to be faster on the GUI than XP, but when gamming I had some problems with it and not on XP. Anyway it was a year ago, so I'm sure that drivers are working fine now.
