  • New DX9 demo

    Hi!

I've written a DX9 demo utilizing vertex shader 2.0 for a volumetric lighting effect. It should run on Parhelia, but I'm not sure if it really does as it was developed on a 9700 and not tested on anything else. Would be nice if someone tested that for me.

    Looks like this:

    Hi Humus,

I tried the demo but it'll not run in my computer. It complains about the vertex shader being version 1.1

I've got the current version of the P drivers and the DX9 libraries.

It looks like we'll have to wait for DX9 compliant Matrox drivers

Aw, that sucks, thought Matrox had DX9 drivers available.
Alright, remember to return to my site when DX9 drivers are available though

The demos work fine with Radeon9500/128. (of course, it should be... )

                  In Phong illumination demo,
it seems the performance is limited by the shader instead of Fill rate? In this case, the frame rate of the R9500 only suffers a little bit from FSAA 6x.

Yes, the Phong demo is pretty much 100% shader limited.

Well, I don't usually visit this forum. The reason I appeared here now is because I got email notification on replies to my thread.

From the looks of it, we may never get Vertex Shader 2.0 realized on Parhelia...
