If we wait a year or two, you reckon we could do the Voodoo5 6000-like auctions?

Funny thing is that the Parhelia will sell for more than anything ATI currently sells as time goes on, seeing how Matrox cards hold their value. I got my Parhelia for cheaper than that anyway...

The held their value. That was back when they had quality products with quality support. Matrox has destroyed most of their reputation in the last year or two.

So what are you gonna replace it with, Wombat? You aren't gonna stick with the Ti200 are you?

Yeah, I am, for now. I've got it running faster than a Ti500, and that's plenty of power for me lately. I've been playing Half-Life mods, and RTS games, and the Ti200 is plenty of horse for that. Unfortunately, the Parhelia wasn't, since the drivers suck ass.

Ti200 (even stock speeds): Natural Selection pegs at 72fps, 1280x960, 32bpp, 2xAA

Parhelia: Natural selection runs in the high twenties, and goes down to single-digit fps when things get busy, 1024x768, 16bpp, no AA.

And did I mention that the Parhelia runs Half-Life at 60Hz no matter what? I couldn't stand the headaches.

Probably a WinXP specific thing. Dunno, haven't played HL for quite awhile.

It might be an XP thing, but ReForce set the monitor timings for me, and the GF3 obeyed them. The Parhelia did not.

It's any HL mod as well. CounterStrike, Natural Selection...that's why I was pissed about it.

I found that a better program to use with the Parhelia was RefreshLock.

Didn't matter. I tried them both, and neither worked.

Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?

I hope the price of the 9700 will drop quite a bit when the GFFX is introduced, so i might get one myself

Misinformation like that only leads everyone to suspect you don't know jack My (far-too-rich) friend has two machines with new kit - both 9700's - and he's had zero issues.
Cheers, Reckless
