  • well, the only way to improve performance other than ocing which isnt very good for the parhelia, is to have a fast cpu. Unfortunatley the only way to get good-perfroming triplehead gaming is with the latest and greatest cpu. It is not the best way, but the only way.

    • uh... so let me get this straight...

you are telling me that i need to go buy a new processor and possibly motherboard so that my $400 video card can perform as good as the previous video card i owned, which I sold for $75 after i got my Parhelia, and can be bought new for about $100...

      • Drop it Bigg, you can't argue when you don't have a point.

Considering how much the P costs, it's utterly useless for gaming.

        • if u buy a videocard only for gaming you are completely wasting your money, go buy a console or something. Most use it for more than that, and Parhelia users usually demand more features than gaming for all the other facets they use their P for. So in that respect, the parhelia was a very good deal and works excellent for gaming as well.

          • What are you on about, crow8k3a? Wasting my money when I'm buying a videocard for gaming? What if the games I wan't to play don't exist for a console?

            • you kinda missed my point, my point is that pretty much everyone does more with their computer than play games. and for some, warranting buying a card that has the best 2d features and the ability to play the latest games, the P being a good deal for both issues.
              that is all.

              • I agree, I mean I didn't buy my card solely for GAming but I do alot of gaming. I also have an Xbox yet I tend to game more on my PC. Also Matrox stated that it would not only be a work card but a top of the range gaming card and in real terms it compares to cards almost 2 years older. There are so many glitches that wont get fixed as they are in the hardware and I think that this is just unacceptable tbh. I mean sometime's I think Matrox must give some of the reviewer's better boards as they never seem to encounter banding issue's etc.

                • EDIT: This post served no purpose. Those that has made up their minds about the Parhelia are not likely to change their opinion any time soon.

I am eagely awaiting Matrox DX9 drivers, though.

                  • yah i play both gta and half-life/cs, and they definately play well at high detail.

What do u mean work w/ overlay? my work is primarily in 2d graphics and video editing. If u can't switch a app to primary, or software overlay then u can switch to dualhead or use the primary monitor for output, (altho i would like overlay support to be configurable to either of the 3 monitors.) Not a card w/out problems, but still a great card for what i meantioned above.

Dammit. Im sorry, but I just can't let this be. Do you have some kind of Super Machine? 3GHz CPU? 4GB RAM?

I have an Athlon 1800+, that's one point five gigahertz. Five hundred and twelve megabytes of RAM. Half-Life crawls. No matter what resolution I run. GTA3 worked at snails pace. Matrox tech-supp told me to disable the features that made it look good. Still didn't help. I just don't get it. I really don't.

                      • This thread has gone WAY off topic from where it started, and I'm simply sick of the constant bickering.
If you don't like Parhelia, that's your choice.
But there are those of us who are happy with the card, and all of your critisisms and bashing aren't going to change that. Deal with it.
