  • Which is faster/better? G450 vs. G400 MAX

I can put my hands on either card for free. (company is buying)

I will using for word/excel/powerpoint (gen business use) and light gaming.

    Dual Monitor for sure!

    Which should I pick?

Looking for input from somebody that knows.

    TIA
    Sidney

What are you going to do with the card and is there any price difference?

Oh and welcome to the forum!
According to the latest official figures, 43% of all statistics are totally worthless...

        G400 also has better TV-out.
The only reason a G450 would be better is if you want to run the 2nd head at high res/refresh.

Yup yup, my G400MAX is easily superior in speed, and I honestly think its got slightly better image quality than the G450.

I get 1600 in 3dmark2001se. But 3DMark2001 is a DX8 test, and the G4x0 is a DX6 card, so effectively you're testing the CPU speed more than anything else.

              Try 3DMark2000 instead.

only few tests really use DX7 in 3DMark2000, so it doubles as a good DX6 benchmark (especially when comparing between cards which neither support DX7 features).

Still on MadOnion, but it won't work on NT 2K or XP. Not sure about ME. It works on 95 98.
