I can't complain about it. I mainly got it for going to LAN parties, but I'm waiting on a buddy to get his house so I can drag it over there. I also use it for watching TV and downloading stuff off the usenet since my main rig is pretty damn noisey! It makes nice for a nice secondary box.
Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?

Is that supposed to prove something?

I see lots of folks with 4wd on their vehicles who never use it.

Once you put triplehead to use, and surround gaming to use, it's hard to go back.

Well Personally I was slightly disappointed with it. I was using America's Army and UT2003 with it and with a framerate of 15fps at 3072x768, it was rather painful to play. Plus add in the additional space it takes up when using CRTs it lost even more appeal to me. Add in Matrox's very shaky future ATM and it was personally a no brianer for me to use a card that was better suited for what I wanted.

Overall Its not a bad concept and I still have the Parhiela in a anti-static bag for some future use somewhere.

Mmm ... I guess everybody has their own preferences. To each his own.

I can't imagine using anything less than 3 screens now. And for every naysayer who says its "expensive", they haven't shopped around. A refurbished 17" monitor will run you $55 US.

And I'm curious why anyone would run the Parhelia in surround mode higher than 2400x600x32. Image quality maybe? To get rid of jaggies? ... I thought that's what Fragment AA was for. I haven't had choppy frame rates in surround mode yet. Having VSync ON and the Refresh Lock tool = MAGIC!

The only major complaint I had with my Parhelia was the banding issue, Ok I could usually get rid of it by disabling FAA 16x. Though that was one of the main reasons I bought the card tbh, and I cant go without anti-aliasing so I went the Radeon 9700 route.

i'm not saying this because i've been writing about it for months, but it has really helped with my productivity. i'm churning out feature stories like there's no tomorrow.

if they ever take my monitors or parhelia away from me, i''m outta here.

Well when you already have a 21 in montior and extra 19in montior, doesn't make much sence to downgrade to 3 17inchers or go out and get a used 19in one?

Why should I run my games at 800x600? Bare Minium should be at least 1024x768, at least for me, Thats what I was running my games at on my G400 years ago. 800x600 looks like crap on anything larger then a 17in monitor IMO.

                      GT98,

Obviously you were in a different situation than most people find themselves. I would have preferred 3 21" monitors, but I didn't have the space at the time. This will be remedied with a move soon.

"800x600 looks like crap on anything larger then a 17in monitor IMO."

Really? What DP are your monitors at? I ran the Parhelia at various resolutions (except 640x480) on my 21" Sony Trinitron (.24 dot pitch) and thought everything looked pretty damn sharp, even without FAA. I guess mileage varies.

But believe me, I don't have anything against ATi. I use a pretty effective 9000 in my HTPC and it makes everything look puuuurty on my cozy 61" monitor.

ATi has come a long way ... I remember when their biggest feature was anti-aliased text in Windows 3.1 ten years ago!

What I ment about 800x600 res is that personally I found graphics too be too blocky looking in games. Even with FAA turned on it really didnt make much of a difference. I perfer to game at 1024x768 or higher.
