I'm currently using Win NT 4.0 (moving to Win2k) with an old Matrox Millenium, and have decided to go multi-monitor. I cannot decide if the old G200MMS - Quad will be worse/better than, say, 2 Millenium G550's.
I have NO interest in gaming, so 3D performance is not an issue. But I want the maximum flexibility in arranging my screen real estate.
So I have 2 questions.
1. What are the "real" advantages of the newer cards (the G550's) over their older cards the G200MMS)? I realize that they're smaller and more integrated, but what about functionality/performance.
2. Does "unified driver" support mean that the G200MMS can take advantage of the new Dualhead software features (like managing multiple desktops, and setting independent resolution/refresh rates)?
Any insight you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
Thanx,
Michael
