Parhelia on Dell Precision 620

Has anyone successfully installed a Parhelia in a Dell Precision 620? The 620 supports AGP 2.0...?

Here's our setup:

Dell Precision 620
Matrox G450
Matrox RT-2500
Autodesk AutoCAD 2002
Autodesk Inventor 6
Adobe Premiere 6.0
Adobe Photoshop 7.0
Macromedia Flash MX


We are hoping to replace the G450 with a Parhelia 256MB and drive 3 Dell 2000FP LCD panels.

Any thoughts or experiences greatly appreciated.

You'll have to hook up 3 LCDs to analog, you could drive 2 DVI LCDs or 1 DVI + 2x analog.

Max resolution will be 1280x1024x3 for triplehead.

Parhelia 256 is lower clocked than P 128 retail.

128 vs 256 depends on your needs (how much texturing, etc... you do, how big are the models...)

What are the specs of Precision 620?

On Ultramon's site I saw the review of Parhelia done on PII 400 / 256MB RAM, it worked.

You need a 300W Power supply, if your precision doesn't have one, you have to get one.

Dell uses proprietary motherboards, cases and powersupplies. If you want just power supply you can order one with Dell outputs from PC Power and Cooling.

Generally Dells, Compaqs and the like are cool but not good when it comes to upgrading due to proprietary parts
