          OK - so offtopic:
I was in the automatic door business in the mid 80's and (during that time) got to know a guy in the mid '80s who had a manufacturing plant in Sweden.
The two years previously his taxes had been more than his income.
I know, I know, it had to do with "capital" - but he'd been pouring all he made into his factory (rather than spending on himself) for many years before that.
Anyway. I got to know him while he was "scouting" various places in the US to move his factory to (yes, he moved it - and himself - US citizen now).
Up to that point, I had never regarded the US as a "tax haven", but, I guess it is - at least to some... (Oh - and our roads are pretty decent, mostly.)

            Totally OT:

Yes, but to think, what the world would be if USA was like Sweden.

Ok, so what do you pay in taxes?

Fuel in UK is at £0.80 for a litre, so over a dollar as well, ~$5 for a gallon.

                  VAT is 17.5%.

VAT in Norway is 24% (!!)

Not sure what the current fuleprice is, but it's probably more expensive than most other countries in the world.

                        Nice topic.
Atko: yep, but usually you have to pay that 25% VAT. If you can cheat it back is another cup of coffee, but the vaste majority of people cannot I think. Too bad that we don't have anything from M to talk about on hwsw...

Doesn't it specifically state that "Prices exclude VAT and delivery"?

DAMN!! And I was complaining about $1.73 a gallon.

At $5 a gallon, I think I would ride a Mountain Bike to work.
