DVDMAX not triggering

I've spent about 20 mins looking thru past threads but can't solve this one on my own. This question is similar to one below, i cannot get dvdmax to turn on!

I've tried powerdvd v4 for XP. I've tried non divx movies in MP9.

nothing will output to TV!

DVDMAX propertys give the colour bars. Clone & Secondary display work. Tried 16 bit modes, tried diff resolutions, on both displays. Tested for overlay, overlay is happening...

Any ideas???

I figured it out. I had disabled bus mastering a while ago because it improved the perfromance of my composition program, cubase sx. Turned it back on and it's working...

Any tips of getting the best performance, and getting smooth playback for DVD? It's a tiny bit choppy...

WIN XP
Celeron 700
Asus p3v4X MB with 256 133Mhz Sdram
Pioneer DVD Slot-in Drive
Wavetable 2496 Soundcard
etc...

Make sure that DMA access to the DVD-ROM drive is enabled - you can do this in device manager --> IDE controllers --> choose the channel the drive is on --> advanced settings.
