I can understand that that's too much for him (and unpaid I presume). Too bad that Matrox decided to close down their external (and virtually free, as I understand it) BB program. They seem a little out of touch with reality recently (at least since the G550).

This is very sad. It would be very difficult for me to buy their new graphic cards relying totally on reviews.
How many of you would have bought Parhelia based on Tom's Hardware Guide's review?
The problem with reviews usually is that they concentrate mainly on benchmarking and let the features step aside.

            Is Matorx out of business?

Cancelling external beta testing program doesn't mean they are out of business. What it means, they will test their new products only inside the company with their own staff. When Matrox sent the cards to the beta testers outside of the company, they could have enormous amount of info regarding the performance of the card and stability of drivers in very different situations. Now, after cancelling this program, it is very likely that there will be at least a some amount of bugs in a final releases, that could have been noticed by a beta tester in an earlier point.

It´s funny that when ATi is starting their own beta program - despite their drivers being very top notch now - Matrox is putting an end to its own.
That´s a very bad sign and it really seems Matrox is going down.

This is really a sad news.
It makes me wonder if Matrox could do just a right thing from now on, i mean, lately they just did the opposite of what customers wanted.
Customers wanted this... They did that instead!
Customers were happy with this program.. They shut it down!
We wanted this feature... They implemented the other one!

NOW i'm really losing hope on matrox..

BTW why don't you put this news on the front page?
I guess people needs to know what's going on there!

Another sign that Matrox have lost all sense of direction. This is a stupid decision.
Matrox will go bust I'm sure of it unless some of the present management get run over by a bus.

That really is a sad news. As it has been said, we could rely on "reviews" by the BBz. But now, we'll have to rely on "news" sites ? No way.

This is too bad... and it is probably gonna have an impact on murc traffic also...

Maybe that banding problem not beeing noticed during beta testing has (also) something to do with the cancellation of the program...

This is indeed very sad news.
Looks like I'm gonna have to rely on ATI to get their banding issue solved so I can finally upgrade my G400.

The ATI banding issue is simple interference. Change the frequency (of the monitor, not the chip) in 1 Hz steps with PowerStrip and it'll go away.
