Ok. I held off getting a Parhelia for a week just for this announcement. Now that it is made, can anyone tell me if these cards are better than the Parhelia in any way? When I buy a card, I make sure that I get the most for my money so that I don't have to buy another one for a few years. I still use my G400 Max but it's kinda bugging out on me so I want to upgrade...

The original Parhelia is a 256bit gpu with a 256bit DDR memory bus.

Bothe these cards look very good for corperate users, and OEM's! Let's hope these cards make some money for Matrox! does anybody know the clock speeds? And what is removed the Parhelia-512 to get Parhelia-LX?

The original Parhelia is a "512-bit" GPU. So these are 1/2 a P (half the pipelines too, and half the memory bus-width)

As a guess I'd say these cards will be a great upgrade path for people still using their G series cards for work, that want to play an occasional game.

I also think they will be great in the DV area.

BTW: Doesn't this 256bit GPU and the passive cooling thing mean that there's a heavy modification involved when compared to the original P core? Some redesign?

I have little information regarding the core on these cards. It would probably be safe to assume its clocked lower, as well as (as someone else pointed out) its half a P

But it seems that pretty much all the Parhelia 2d and screen configuration options have been kept for the 750 (and mostly apart from tri-head for 650). Glyph AA, overlays etc are in there.
