  • Parhelia IS GPU limited.

Parhelia is very GPU limited, I just gone from a Athlon XP 1600+ and an Nforce 1 = Nforce 2 and a Athlon Xp 2600+ and saw hardly any performance increase in anything tried out 3dmark2001 went from 7300 to 7600 not really 800mhz difference is it?

So now I know that the Parhelia is GPU limited and just screams out for more mhz on the core clock even overclocking by 10mhz gives massive increases.

My bulk card will only do 220/550 because also the memory is 3.6ns rated at 550.

Wolfenstein runs pretty much the same, I wondering whether or not the Parhelia is now the bottleneck of my machine?

I think you answered you own question there.

Throw a Radoen 9700 in it and see what happens

I just ran 3dmark2001SE and scored 8370. I have a Pentium 4 3.06ghz (Hyperthreading was disabled). I think that pretty much is the max the Parhelia can go without being overclocked. I've had it up to 8600 or so when I overclocked the core to 230mhz.

My 9700Pro with an old Athlon thunderbird @1.5GHz on a shitty KT133A manages to score 11000(that's mainly because of the nature score that's 3 times higher than what the P can manage). I haven't even bothered OCing my Radeon, the CPU and RAM is the bottleneck here. But I can game with FSAA and Aniso almost for "free"!

For me, there was a BIG difference running games between an Athlon (TBird) 1.3, a Duron 900 (interim measure) and an XP 2000+. All ran pretty well actually, but the graphics definitely got quicker... suppose it depends on the individual game though, and its CPU dependence, as well as how the Parhelia scales.

              TNT2 Ultra IS LIMITED

Gosh, I mean...what is WITH THIS THING???

I tried out the TNT2 Ultra in 3dMark2001SE and it just ran like CRAP. I have finally figured it out, between my AthlonXP and my TNT2 Ultra, it's the TNT2 Ultra limiting the system!!!!!!!
