  • Parhelia 128MB OpenGL (1.04 )and Maya 5.0

// Error: Graphics card capabilities are insufficient for rendering. Render aborted //
    MAYA HARDWARE RENDER DIAGNOSTICS
    Hardware
    - Specular highlights and bump mapping will not be displayed. The graphics hardware does not have the NV_texture_shader or ATI_fragment_shader extensions required.
    - Reflection mapping is not supported.
    - Depth map shadows will be rendered using 8 bits of precision and will have poor image quality.
    - Vertex programming is not supported. Render performance is reduced up to 60%.
    - CG fragment programability is not supported. Better image quality could be obtained with more advanced graphics hardware.
    Miscellaneous
    - The auto render clipping planes on perspShape are not supported. Use the viewClipPlane command to compute the clipping planes.

It'd probably be a good idea to post this on Matrox's support forum.
Let us return to the moon, to stay!!!

        It's difficult for Matrox.
        1. Parhelia OGL spec not support extentions:
        - NV_texture_shader;
        - ATI_fragment_shader.
        2. Reflection mapping is not supported.
See 2kxp_104_00_078notes.txt : "Reflections do not appear in Combustion when in OpenGL mode".
        3. - Depth map shadows will be rendered using 8 bits of precision and will have poor image quality - no comments.
        4. and more.... (Vertex programming, CG fragment programability)...

Perhaps, only if Alias|Wavefront redesign render module (simple functionality) - Parhelia will' work with Maya.
Or Alias|Wavefront like Autodesk, Inc. jump to DX9 rendering.
        (Joke)
