problem of AMD 750 chipset with the matrox driver

hello every one!
wo made my first AMD platform:
AMD Athlon(tm) Thunderbird 800 Slot A
AMD Fester B3(AMD 750 chipset,made of AMD,northbridge AMD 751,southbridge AMD 756)a mainboard of test,not for sale.
G200 AGP

i install Windows2000 on the platform
install AMD chipset driver pack
if i install driver of matrox ,the system will reset when system start. but with driver of win2k,it doesnt reset.

i have no chioce.
in the forum of matrox
have same problem bappen in the AMD750 chipset

help me please!

Which driver you are using? Have you installed AMD's AGP patch prior to installling the G200 drivers?

i installed all AMD drivers!
but AMD driver can't compitable with matrox driver!

Hi chhfchhf,

sorry, but you might need to completely reinstall your system, ie. format HD and then install Win2000.


What you definately need after Windows comes up are these AMD drivers in exactly this order:

1. Powermanagement drivers (powmgmt_122s.exe)
2. AGP registry patch (largePageMinimum.reg)
3. AGP drivers (miniport_533.EXE)
4. EIDE drivers (eide_143s.exe)

I posted the filenames, so that you can verify if you have all proper versions and won't get fooled by any enclosed CDs.

Oh, one last thing:
Make all suggested reboots for each driver that demands it.

Since you wrote you had the "driver pack" installed (which is really old compared to the single drivers available), it might be wise, if I posted direct links to the drivers I mentioned above.

i have settled the problem!
only install sp3!

the win2k has some problems with AMD chipset!
