Gxx v5.91008 modded for Marvel G400 & G450 here (back from the dead)

Thanks to Adis ! I've re-made the mod from the 5.82 and 5.91 with a proper tool this time (WinMerge) instead of NotePad, to see I`ve missed big parts....

So here is the latest and I hope the last file : g400max_2kxp_591008_marvel_mod_updated.zip


Okay, same story as (lots of ) years ago.
Although I've got a GF3, and later a Radeon Mobility 9000 on my laptop, I just remembered that my old Marvel G400 was still plugged in my parents'computer, and my little brother playing Morrowind with it...
So I pity him, and modded once more the latest drivers to install on a Marvel G400.

Enough bable, here it is: G400.inf. Unpack latest drivers, replace old G400.inf with this one, that SHOULD be OK.

Note that I'm living in Paris, and my parents near Geneva, so that why I said "should" work

update : I've made the similar mod for Marvel G450eTV (G450.inf) I've no idea if this could work.

Hem I forgot the obvious, these drivers are for Win2K/WinXP.

On my system instalation FAILED !?!?
Anybody yet have this experience ?

Installation starts OK but after 1-2 seconds it stops.
I tried to restart, to uninstall old drivers using Matrox Uninstaller...

My system is WinXPSP1 - Marvel G400-TV

Can anyone confirm either sucess or failure with this one ??? I've not tried it myself yet.
As usual, general advice is unistalling first the previous drivers, and install the drivers with administrator priviledges.
adis, I've seen your screenshots, I must admit I've never seen such errors, I can't help you there.

I installed v5.91.008 using G400.inf from v5.82.018.

Mmm.. this is perfectly normal, as I see it.

In fact, my mod consisted in taking the entries of G400TV and G450eTV from the latest .inf where they were available, i.e 5.39.019 I think, and copying them in the latest 5.91 .inf with slight modifications for coherence and compatibility.

So why not trying my own mod ?

PS : to be more precise, the latest for G450eTV was indeed 5.82, but for G400TV, it was 5.39. So there is no install entries for G400TV in 5.82, which explains why your card wasn't detected as "compatible" by your driver. ---> no install !!!!!

5.82.018 works perfectly with my Marvel G400-TV.
It works better on my system than any newer version of PD.
It's better also than 5.39.019 or 5.91.008 !

I tried to install using your G400.inf but installation
stops after 1-2 seconds as it's shown on screenshots!?!?

After that I used G400.inf from PD 5.82.018 and all worked well !

Thanks Adis to point me the 5.82, Marvels was present. I`ve remade the mod accordingly, with more care for the differences, see first post.
