  • Dual-head Difficulties

    Hi!!

Recently upgraded a works PC to Win-XP Pro with a G450 installed driving two 19" Iiyama VM1451s.

The trouble I'm having is getting the two outputs to marry up as being 1280 x 1024 at 32 bit [spanned to 2560 x 1024] and driving both monitors at 75 Hz.

Currently monitor 1 is running as the above [1280 x 1024] whereas the second is the correct res but running at 85 Hz!

How the heck do I ensure both are running at the same res AND at the frequency?

Big assumption that "Dual Head Multi-display > Same resolution and color palettes for both displays" would be intelligent enough to drive the monitors.

And to finish this off, how come the screen saver now switches off my second monitor? Rather annoying as when I wake-up the system any windows that were on monitor 2 are now reconfigured across to monitor 1 in very messy fashion!!

    Many thanks in advance...

First of all, have you downloaded and installed the latest G450 driver?

It's been a while since I used the G450, but as I recall, having had the same problem, I set the refresh rate for both heads in PowerDesk and then it worked. I believe though that 85HZ is the upper limit at that res on that card.
How can you possibly take anything seriously?
    Who cares?

      Ta very much!!

I've opted for the "Separate resolutions and color palettes for both displays" and all seems more than hunky dorey.

I'm now able to set-up monitor profiles for each monitor... which is nice!

T'only problem is that I now have to stretch my windows right across to the right to fill the dual-display [rather than simply maximise the windows as I used to] - which isn't nice!!

Anyhow, it looks a lot better than it ever did, so thank you once again.
