  • A farewell to matrox hardware

Having used matrox cards for a series of years I decided to opt for a different gpu manufacturere.
So in my new rig, build just over a month ago, I've put a Radeon 9800pro.

With this I would just like to express a great thanks to this communite for the assistance that I got over the years (even though I wasn't posting very often).

My last Matrox card, a G400DH 32MB, still plays along in my old system which I gave to my cousins.

I must say that the G400 prove a great inestement for my money since it served me for so long (even finised RTCW, MOHAA and other late games on it).

Unfortunattely, it's performance on Max3d and other software is not up to par any more.

I would sure hope to see a Matrox gpu in me rig again (in few years since I'm not upgrading very often )

    That is all.
    Old rig:
    PIII 533 Slot1, ECS P6Bat-a+

    Quantum Fireball CR 13GB
    Yamaha CDRW 8424, Hitachi GD2500BX, Eizo T760 19"

I just cannot understand those that - after buying a card of another manufacturer - have to go to a forum of the former and feel the imminent urge to tell everyone that most likely doesn't want to hear and for sure doesn't care...

(Before you say anything: No, I don't have a Matrox card (active), but I did not feel that strange urge to pop up here and say: "Hey everyone: I have a new ATI card!", nor did I do that in a nvidia forum after I had exchanged my crappy RivaTNT for a nice G400)

What's so difficult to understand when one says thank you to a community (in our case matroxusers forum) for help he received without even asking (just by browsing here and there in the forums)

I will continue to browse these forums because here (as in other forums also) you can find people with good knowlenge of the industry that can help in several matters (even if your prob is not a matrox related one).
