450eTV or Marvle400 TV ?

Hi everyone.
I am newbie to this site and matrox products.

I am intending to buy either g450etv or g400 marvel. Which one is better in terms of TV out quality and TV capturing? I have got sharp LCD monitor, so it would be better to be able to use DVI for my LCD.

What I want to do with eTV/Marvle is very simple. Capturing BBC documentaries and encode it in divx format and enjoy the result on my TV.


My system: Windows 2003 server standard,
XP 2600+, PC133 640M, Sharp LCD, SB live, 80G Maxtor HD, Etc.


Please let me know whats your recommendation.

PS: Do I need to have other hardware to do capturing and encoding other than Marvel400 or 450eTV?

Those two's capturing capabilities are no longer supported by Matrox under Win2k, XP and above.

I recommend to look into destkop video section.

Yep.
Avoid both of those cards. G400 has no support at all for your OS, G450 next to none.

Go with a P650/750/Parhelia (or any video card of your chioce) with an RT-X.10/100 capture card. G4xx is dead unless you choose to run win9x as an OS...
