The banding really is card specific, with mine I can see the banding if I try really hard, but in general its not a problem.

But lets be honest as with any hardware or software - call a spade a spade - over zealios bashing or defending just get tiresome.

Don't worry TP, the statement was just general to make my point.

what do these band patterns look like? Yes, I know there should be vertical bands on the monitor, but can you be more specific.

Can you see the intensity change when you watch a monitor set to 60Hz? On mine, it was like that, but maybe 20Hz or so.

I must say Maggi, I found the picture in your sig a little disturbing...

Can that little beauty be used for evil? or is it something that just runs locally to mess with my head?

                      Hi Maggi,

Thanks for the link. I actually have the same banding issues, but mine are vertical, not horizontal. Well, I thought my monitor was defective.

it does ... look closer ...

at least the thing that holds the sign changes everytime and as Rakido spotted, the text also varies

If you where realy using Pathelia for playing, you should know that Parhelia's FAA is too slow for most games.

When i bought parhelia, i readed test tests made by many test sites on the web. I known that parhelia where not a high end 3D card.

I bought parhelia mainly for 2D work and a "mid range" 3D capacity was required for playing. Yes, it's not a Radeon 9800XT. But for the moment it's "acceptable" for me in all games.

Note that i ***NEED*** an ****EXCELLENT**** 2D image quality for working. The Radeon 9700 pro (i tested a good model) that was the competitor when a bought parhelia wasn't suitable for me because 2D quality was not as good as what Matrox can do.

Yes, Matrox has done a lot of errors and the Parhalia seems to have a lot of problems.
But some criticts are realy bad. What utility of DirectX9 functions that would never be used ?
