@Gorg. if you want good Linux support, don't bother with Matrox, go with NVIDIA. They are the only consumer graphics company with a "real" set of Linux/BSD drivers (i.e. OGL support).

And of course parhelia is never competible with Mac OSX.

And the fact that P drivers are built on .NET makes it even worse. Remember .NET 1.1? It took them a long time to fix that in their drivers.

And then there is Matrox not fulfilling what they promised. i.e. Vertex Shaders 2.0. Although it didn't really matter since P is not meant for games, that just damage their repetitions. And then there is the SurroundGaming story, trying to drop support for SurroundGaming.

And banding I won't consider it as "good quality".

As you may notice, I am not happy with Parhelia. Its medicore in gaming and is too expensive for an OEM 2D business card.

And isn't that just pitiful? How far they've fallen. Back when nobody really supported Linux, Matrox released the G200 specs. The open-source community ate it up, and the G200 got top-notch Linux drivers, under a GPL license, with GLX support. Then the G400 came along, and though Matrox didn't share info this time, it was close enough to the G200 that people got it working quickly. Even John Carmack helped out in his free time.
Then Matrox decides to piss everyone off. Not only were they keeping the G400 specs a secret, they go ahead and put the Linux G400 drivers on their webpage. Claiming copyright, and behind an illegal EULA, even though they were informed many times that they were in breach of copyright law.

Everybody knows how bad the Matrox drivers have become, but I don't think people realize how good they were.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

I only miss the TV-Out of my old G400MAX...
