dualhead clone: g400 vs g450

Hi. My current system is a Celeron466, Abit bh6, 384mb and Matrox G450.

I would like to be able to play console emulators on tv. But when I use dualhead clone, it slows the system considerably, which makes it kinda useless. Is this b/c my comp is slow?

I'm considering getting a G400. I've read that it has an external chip for tv-out so it's better. Is there a performance hit when using dualhead clone with the G400?

nope none at all, unless when you try to clone a non-hardware scaled resolution.

THe G400 can scale 640x480, 800x600 and 1024x768 in hardware to tv-out afaik.
