I only know they introduced the VGA Silencer II and III at cebit, which should be available within the next few weeks. They're only made for recent ATI and nV cards though.

Got one on my 9500pro, 128bit memory tho, and that sucks big time....no amount of OC can bring it up tot hte bandwidth of 256bit...but its cool just the same, i have the Rage3D tweak bars maxed out...
very good stuff, if it fits.

That's the question. Does it fit on Parhelia?

For the price, maybe you could try it out, adn if it doesn't work, sell it to one of your mates who has a Radeon 9xxx?

afair Matrox uses their own 'standard' of heatsink attachment, which isn't compatible with ATi or Nvidia designs. My old ATi heatsink won't fit on any of my G400's without some cutting involved...

But i didn't answer your question, maybe someone with a Parhelia and 9xxx could ehlp u out?

AFAIK Zalman Heatpipe works on Parhelia and it costs about as much as AC VGA Silencer here.

Yes, but it's twice as heavy. That's the problem for me.

Don't know if it fits but it has to be the best vga cooler I have tried(sold)!

VGA Silencer is especialy designed for Radeon 9x00.
Unfortunatly, Parhelia has holes for cooler on diferent positions then Radeon.

From what I read the artic cooler doesn't fit on Parhelia; Zalman does, however, it does not cover the entire chip, it leaves about 3mm uncovered each side. Until now I had no problems with that and other users I read about didn't either, but I don't play games at the pc, can't be sure you won't have problems.

For those of us who can use tools making it work is a non issue... tho I'd still go with a cheap 1U all copper heatsink myself

I'va also asked arctic cooling and they said they haven't tested it. Thanks for the non-answer :/

I guess I'll just stick with the stock cooling for now, I' don't want to work on the cooler to make it fit. As for the Zalman, I'll consider the thing, I do play games but my case is large and quite well cooled (Antec 3700AMB with two 120mm fans).

the die of the Parhelia is simply too huge to be covered by that fairly small heatsink plate !!!

believe me, I have exactly that cooler and it's a definite no-go ...

maybe Greebe would be crazy enough to drill holes into his Parhelia's PCB and attach some additional copper plates or something simliar to the HS, but even for him it'll be a really hard task to accomplish ... really.
