  • Best TV-out with PCI card

I need a better TV-out for my Epia M board and wondered if there was ever a PCI version of the G400 available. I have searched for some time on ebay but haven't found any.

Which PCI card delivers the best TV-out (at a reasonable price, <100 Euro )?

    I don't know if G400 PCI exist.

What kind of input do you have on your TV ?

If you have a SCART input with RGB feature, take a RADEON 9200SE PCI, (very cheap) and connect it like this :

It's the best TV-out you can have with a PCI card.

And if you live in NTSC country with component input on your TV then you need an additional RGB to YUV converter. But then it costs much :

    A64 3500+ NewCastle @2550 (FSB 255, 10X)
    Abit AV8 v1.1 bios 1.7
    2X256 MB Crucial Ballistix PC4000 (1T Cas 2.0, 2-2-6) @DDR333/FSB255=212MHZ
    LC Power 550 W
    Geforce 6800 GT (Asus V9999GT-TD /128) @428/900 + nvSilencer 5 rev.2
    Thermalright XP-90 + Enermax 92mm fan
    NEC 3520A DVD-RW Firmware 3.04
    SB Audigy 2
    BELINEA 10-17-30
XP Home SP2 - Via Hyperion Pro 5.00A
Via IDE accelerator Driver 1.21 Beta
Via RAID 4.30C driver Via velocity V23 Network driver

      Thanks.
I have S-Video and SCART input and live in a PAL country. Is every SCART input RGB capable?

For more than 10 years, RGB features are found on scart inputs.

        - look in your handbook
        - or take a standalone player from a friend and try forcing the player to output in RGB mode.
        - or search on the web

21-pin SCART connector pinout for European AV equipment. Includes RGB, composite video, stereo audio, and control signals with impedance specifications.

If your device is not the cheapest one and not to old you may have a good chance to have it

But indeed, the first SCART connectors had not RGB wiring.

I have never heard of a G400 PCI, and I'm fairly certain it never existed.
Blah blah blah nick blah blah confusion, blah blah blah blah frog.

My TV-set is a four year old 16:9 JVC, I'm quite sure that it will cope with RGB. But my two left hands will prevent me from soldering
Perhaps I'll call a friend to help me.

it's not so complex and it's really worth to try if you plan to build a Home Theater PC. Good luck !

See my setup in this post :
