Anyone run a G200 on MSI KT3 Ultra2 or 745 Ultra motherboards

MSI 745 Ultra (6561)

I want to keep using my G200 but have to replace the motherboard - sigh.

Anyway has anyone actually run a G200 with either of these motherboards?

I am asking so as to check if they can cope with boards of this vintage. Its AGP 3.3v 2x

Tested the 745 Ultra two days ago with my Mil G200... works fine

Thanks Greebe. I think you said that in the DigVid forum, but I thought I'd ask about compatibility here too. Also the KT3 boards are a bit more common on UK ebay at the moment... Have you any opinions on the two boards in general. I think the KT3 u2 is slightly later and I've seen comments that the 745 demands better memory & psu. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Compairison wise, the 745 is more stable, with less headaches and has double the PCI bandwidth of the (gag me with a spoon) VIA solution.

I'd get better quality memory for the 745, I'm using Samsung "True" PC2700 in mine.

Shop around and get the 745 Ultra, it'll serve you better in the long run.
