  • creating a sourround gaming profile in windows.

I have just purchased a radeon 7000 PCI and added it to my system alongside my parhelia. This way i run my desktop as 3 independant screens each at 1600x1200(2 analogues on parhelia, one DVI LCD on the radeon). Thats fine for 2D but i also want to do a lot of surround gaming, now i have created a second windows hardware profile so that it disables the radeon and runs things all from parhelia, but as i boot into the surround gaming profile it always defaults to just 2 independant screens from the parhelia, i want it to get it to default to 3 screens triple head stretched(now using the 3rd parhelia analogue into the LCD) everytime i boot into surround gaming profile. Anybody have a clue how to get this working?
i am thinking maybe installing the parhelia drivers again under the surround gaming profile in a different folder or something but i am not sure if this will work or how to do it.
    any ideas?

I'm currently using two separate installations of WindowsXP:
One for Parhelia DX8.1 drivers and one for BetaDX9 drivers.

It means a lot to do (installing updates twice etc.), but I have found it much easier than swapping between different drivers when I need to.

I had virtually the same setup as you borat.

I used the two OS method. It never occurred to me to use the windows profiles.

It gave me a lot of flexibility when it came to which drivers I was going to try and knowing that if I screwed up my gaming OS, my work OS was still safe.
      P.S. You've been Spanked!

managed to get round it by creating a profile which turns off the radeon, now to enter surround gaming mode i open power desk, click 3 screens stretched and then restart machine, then select my gaming hardware profile and things boot up as normal in 3 screen stretched. Bit of an ordeal but its worth it.
cheers for the info anyway guys
