I still have Parhelia in my main rig, which today I rebuilt (Tyan board died again, got Abit NF7-S, back to single CPU). I plan to splice this rig into a workstation and a server and I'll still consider Matrox for workstation, if they have a viable Vista card next year.

I have a G550 in my old PIII and a P650 with an Athlon 64 - since I don't do any 3D stuff, I'm fairly happy with both cards.
However, I'm not sure where matrox graphics is going to. Anybody considering the possibility that they are just selling off their old P-products before closing down the company?
I'm not saying there isn't a market for high-quality 2D graphics with high-end support. But it doesn't seem to me that matrox has enough developers for any new product. Besides, I'm not sure about their support quality, particularly in the Linux business.

They are one of the few (if not the only) company that offers a single videocard solution for the high resolution displays (IBM, Iiyama and Viewsonic) They also produce realtime video editing cards with offer great quality and features. And finally, they produce hardware for video based quality check of production lines (someone has posted comments on such hardware in this forum, can't find the thread).
I doubt Matrox will stop this fast. Sure, they are currently selling off P-products and variants, but IMO this is damage control: the P-series weren't as big a markethit as they would have hoped, so now they have to make the best of it until the next product.
