  • Is it actually possible to get matched displays on a G550?

I have a dual G550 which has a VGA and a digital output. I am running a pair of Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 930SB 19" CRT screens both of similar age. I cannot seem to get both screens looking identical even if the settings are the same. My question is therefore, are the outputs slightly different on the card? Should I be able to match them or will I need a card with dual DV or dual VGA to achieve this?
It hasnt been a problem up till now because my second screen was a 17" NEC Multisynch shadowmask so I didnt expect them to look the same. Now I do! I know that each output has different RAMDAC rates - other than that will the actual video output differ because one is runing through DV port and other is HD-15? I have loaded the Mitsubish colour profile for the screen.

What's different about them? Even among the same make and model of LCD, you're likely to see large variances in temperature and brightness.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

I've found that driving an LCD screen via an analog connector tends to make the colours washed out. Side by side against a screen connected via DVI I would see a huge difference.

I had some success using powerstrip to adjust the colours. It was never perfect though.

If you want the screen to be exactly the same then you'll need to get a video card with dual DVI.
      P.S. You've been Spanked!

Well it seems that the secondary screen is pinker than the primary. I put that down to the fact that it was a different type of tube initially, but now the second 930 looks just like the FE770 used to when I had it connected. I am beginning to think that the only way to do this properly will be to buy a P650 and a Spyder hardware calibration tool and load two profiles - which I believe is now possible using new drivers from Matrox.

You can tinker with it with powerstrip. Try that fist. It's cheaper.

But even with that it still may not be possible. LCDs can vary too much.
