G400 max any advice for gaming

Hi all
I will have the card in a few days.
I am a bit worried about what problems i might encounter when i get it, after reading some of the messages on hear.
I play QII , Kingpin , Unreal and Half-Life.

I was wondering should i install the drivers that come with it first? or should i use the 5.21 or the 5.13(hope i got the versions right there)

My system is ...
PII 350(soon to be PIII 450)
128 mb ram
soundblaster live
Asus isdn adapter.

Rohde - I guess you missed all the threads about HL over the last few days.

HL can be sped up a great deal by using:
gl_texsort "1"
in your autoexec.cfg...

I would use the 5.13 drivers. IMHO more stable and faster. Lots of posts back me up on the speed issue here.

Personally I had no problems installing the card, but performance, especially in HalfLife, is not overwhelming.

Direct3D games runs just fine, with plenty of FPS and a nice crisp imagequality.

Don't install the drivers that comes with the card. Download the 5.21 drivers and use these. And after having installed the drivers remember to use the Registry hacks for disabling VSync (as described on http://www.murc.ws/news.html).
