    HELP ME!

I have single-head G400 32mb, and this opengl thing has been plauging me. Every time I try to initialise opengl with any game, the game causes a protection fault in module <unknown> (you know, the little box pops up). While it does this, the resolution seems to be 320x240. Click ok, the box pops up again. And again. And again. Repeat until dead.

I've installed the latest driver set and I have the beta ICD but I don't exactly know how to get quake2 to use it. I tried putting it in the quake2 directory, in windows/system, and other places - nothin works. It just dies a horrible painful death.

    Any help will be appreciated!

      dgawd,

I was having some problems until I did the following. You may want to consider them.

      1. Uninstall all Matrox drives as per FAQ at Matrox home page.

      2. Uninstall all games affected...(major pain in the a*s, but worth it)

      2. D/L and install PD5.25 and unzip OpenGL ICD beta to Windows/System folder.

      3. Reinstall all games and mods.

The only problems I had was Quake displaying a rather annoying disco/rainbow effect on all wall/floor surfaces (don't know if a fix is available yet), and Quake 1 & 2 playing dark which was fixed with idGamma and some autoexec.cfg fixes posted somewhere on MURC.

Unreal, Quake3test, and Half-Life worked for me with no problems so far (knock on wood).

      Hope this helps, NightOps
